NSN TRAINING INSTITUTE
The NSN is pleased to offer ongoing trainings that build meaningful survivor engagement in the movement.
Our training goals include:
- empowering survivors through skills, mentoring, and professional development;
- building allies’ and organizations’ capacity to participate in healthy, mutual collaborations with survivors engaged in movement leadership;
- modeling survivor-led movement practices to build our sector’s capacity to effectively prevent and respond to human trafficking.
Different trainings are open to different audiences. Please check the description before registering to see whether a training is:
- NSN members only;
- For survivors of trafficking and people engaged in informal or precarious work;*
- Open to all, including our professional allies who do not have lived experience.
*We open our non-member survivor trainings to people engaged in informal or precarious work as part of our recognition that development and empowerment of people who are at statistically increased risk of trafficking is violence prevention.

Past Trainings
This webinar was offered in March and again in May in partnership with FreeFrom. After attending, one survivor emailed to report she had updated her “about me” page to say she no longer accepts free speaking engagements and offering instructions on how to hire her. SURVIVOR EMPOWERMENT FOR THE WIN!
Other Trainings
The NSN is also available for conference presentations or customized trainings for organizations looking to build capacity to work with survivors as clients and colleagues and engage in meaningful, evidence-informed anti-trafficking work.
Our training clients include: ATEST (Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking), Human Trafficking Legal Center, National Association of Student Personnel Administrators, New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault, VALOR US, and other state and national nonprofits.
